I am a lifelong artist, with a BFA in art from University of GA and and MFA from UT. I mostly show my work in local venues in Austin and in studio tours. Presently, I practice art in my studio in my backyard in Austin, Texas. See BIO page for more.
I paint still lifes, landscapes, and interior scenes, basing my paintings on direct observation, photographs, drawings, and my imagination. I often set up the subject matter for still lifes in my studio. Though a lot of my work is inspired by direct observation, I don't adhere strictly to reality. I enjoy altering colors, shifting perspective, and introducing abstract elements to my work.
Oil painting is my main medium. I am attracted to the vivid colors, versatility, and long history and tradition of oil paint, I also enjoy drawing and regularly employ sketches to develop ideas for my paintings.
