I have roots in South Carolina, but I have been an Austin resident for 37 years. I practice art at my home studio in Austin, which I've opened up to the public when I've participated in the West Austin Studio Tour.   My previous studio was in Travis Heights, where I participated in the open studio tours there.  I've also exhibited my work at local businesses and other Austin establishments.
Still lifes and interior scenes are major interests of mine. I also paint abstracts and landscapes. My paintings are inspired by and based on set ups in my studio, drawings, and photos. I strive to use inventive perspective and color, personal meaning, playfulness, and other elements to produce paintings that energize and reinterpret these genres.
